BEHIND THE LENS...

I am, Ian A. Maynard. Creative Director of LLUMAS XENNO Photography soon to be Production/Enterprise. 

 

Barbadian born, i studied photography at my alamata "The Alleyne Secondary School" in the countryside. However i started my professional career in early 2017 starting with the caribbean's showcase of The Arts and Craft "CARIFESTA XIII". 

 

Spending time in Brooklyn NYC and The United Kingdom were culture shocks for me, but i quickly adapted and eventually was extremely drawn to FASHION thus beginning my short but much appreciated career as a Model.

In 2002 i was fortunate to attend my first JAMAICAN FASHION WEEK with SOUL PHILOSOPHY (a UK designer stationed in Barbados). That was a brilliant highlight and one i will never forget for all eternity.

 

Before Photography i worked in the Hospitality and Automotive industry where i mastered my communication and service excellence skills as i interacted with customers and clients from all walks of life. 

 

Admiring the artistic genius of photographers from afar. "Some day i was going to have that Job and have my own Production & Photography Company", i thought to myself.

 

To quote a line from the award winning movie The Devil Wears Prada - "don't be silly, everyone wants to be us", yes they were talking about me and i have now come for everything they said i couldn't  have...

I have posted my first official work in the "gallery" of this site, this should give u an idea of my dedication to the craft, on a limited budget, borrowed equipment, a few inspirational friends and my trusty backpack i set out on my quest; driven by determination and the eagerness to succeed.

 

I AM a force to be reckoned with BEHIND THE LENS.
